All that I am, to You I owe;
Your wisdom formed me, Lord, I know.
I give my Maker humblest praise,
whose wondrous works my soul amaze.
Before my soul to breath was brought,
Your eye did see, and in Your thought
my life in all its perfect plan
was fixed before my days began.
Your thoughts, O God, cannot be told,
more precious unto me than gold!
Their number far beyond my view;
when I awake, I am with You.
Search me, O God, and know my heart;
try me, and test my inmost part;
and lead me home, if I should stray,
back to Your everlasting way.
Your wisdom formed me, Lord, I know.
I give my Maker humblest praise,
whose wondrous works my soul amaze.
Before my soul to breath was brought,
Your eye did see, and in Your thought
my life in all its perfect plan
was fixed before my days began.
Your thoughts, O God, cannot be told,
more precious unto me than gold!
Their number far beyond my view;
when I awake, I am with You.
Search me, O God, and know my heart;
try me, and test my inmost part;
and lead me home, if I should stray,
back to Your everlasting way.
