Spring 2024 Music Ministry Update

Dear music ministry,

I’m writing to express a brief note of thanks for you all, and for your labors this past year. When I went to write this letter, I realized the last update here was when the major renovations in the auditorium were about to begin. What a huge change in the past nine months! And you all have borne it with grace and thankfulness. God has been so kind to give us an expanded facility to accommodate increased attendance and participation in the music ministry.

The most encouraging part of the music ministry for me this past year has been to see your growth in relationships with one another. The love and care for fellow believers, the reconciling of conflicts, asking for and granting forgiveness… these are the pillars of a successful music ministry. The music itself is an outflow of that. I want to remind us all, again, that we should pour our best efforts into private godliness, acts of love, and edifying speech. Thank you for how you consistently live that out.

This summer will be a slower pace on the platform, but I hope not too slow. I want to provide every opportunity for you all to use your musical gifts to serve the Lord. I’m still praying through and thinking about what that can look like. And of course we’re all looking forward to a big launch in the fall!

I also want to take this opportunity to publicly thank Muriel Sitton for her labors in children’s choir over the past several years. Muriel has served our pre-K children so well, and I’m personally indebted to her and all the team of ladies that provide incredible instruction on Sunday nights. We’re looking for someone to fill Muriel’s role in the fall, so if you love working with little ones in the context of music, please consider how you might be able to serve, either in a leadership role, or as part of a rotation.

Also, we are always looking for more instrumentalists to join our orchestra. We’re especially in need of low brass. If you know of new members who play (or used to play), encourage them to consider serving!

I love you all and am so thankful for you. I marvel that I get to serve alongside a music ministry of men and women that I consider friends.

Thanks!
Dan
