A steadfast heart, a blameless life:
may these be my gift, Lord, to You,
with faith and love and truthfulness
expressed in all I do.

To shun deceit and wickedness,
be this the choice I always make;
the counsel of hypocrisy
I willingly forsake.

Be clean my hands and pure my heart
when to Your holy house I come;
Your matchless deeds be all my song,
Your presence be my home.

The schemes of those who kill for wealth—
let such be never mine to share;
Your mercy be sufficient, Lord,
whatever guilt I bear.

A steadfast heart, a blameless life:
may this be Your work, Lord, in me,
until I sing, with all the saints,
Your praise eternally.
