View Lyrics
As pants the deer for water brooks,
so pants my soul for God alone;
for You I thirst, my living Lord;
when shall I come before Your throne?
My tears have been my constant food;
my foes have said, "Where is Your God?"
This I recall, pour out my soul,
and cry again to You, O Lord.
For in time past, with all the saints,
we gathered in Your holy place
to celebrate with thankful heart,
and shout of joy, and song of praise.
Your lovingkindness send by day;
Your song of joy renew by night;
and may my music be a prayer,
a prayer to You, God of my life.
Be not disturbed, be not dismayed;
be lifted up, my cast-down soul;
hope now in God; He is your help,
and He can heal and make you whole.
so pants my soul for God alone;
for You I thirst, my living Lord;
when shall I come before Your throne?
My tears have been my constant food;
my foes have said, "Where is Your God?"
This I recall, pour out my soul,
and cry again to You, O Lord.
For in time past, with all the saints,
we gathered in Your holy place
to celebrate with thankful heart,
and shout of joy, and song of praise.
Your lovingkindness send by day;
Your song of joy renew by night;
and may my music be a prayer,
a prayer to You, God of my life.
Be not disturbed, be not dismayed;
be lifted up, my cast-down soul;
hope now in God; He is your help,
and He can heal and make you whole.
