View Lyrics
Be gracious to me, O my Lord,
for I am in distress.
My body wastes away in grief,
my soul and eyes bereft.
My life is lost in sorrow's groans;
my years are but a sigh.
My strength is sapped by misery;
my bones in weakness cry.

I am the scorn of every foe,
a horror to my friends,
an object of the deepest dread
to those I barely know.
All flee from me as if I'm dead,
a broken, useless thing.
They whisper terrifying plots,
and for my life they scheme.

Yet I will trust in You, O Lord;
"You are my God," I say.
My time and life are in Your hands;
deliver me, I pray.
So let Your face upon me shine;
You are my only stay.
In steadfast love, Lord, rescue me;
give life to me this day.
