View Lyrics
Father, I wait for You,
quiet, I wait for You,
safe and secure.
God is a trusty rock,
fortress and sturdy lock,
saving me from the shock,
protected, sure.

Why do you threaten me,
challenge my dignity?
You shall be slain.
They are a leaning wall,
swaying and bound to fall;
falsely they bless, and all
they say is vain.

So I will wait for God,
quiet, I hope for God,
safe and secure.
God is a trusty rock,
fortress and sturdy lock,
saving me from the shock,
protected, sure.

God is a strength to me,
fortress and sanctuary,
glory and power.
People of every race,
constantly plead for grace;
God will, in every case,
remain their tower.

People are vanity,
lying humanity,
flying away.
Trust not in robbery,
vigor or snobbery;
wealth turns to poverty,
and does not pay.

One thing God said to me,
twice He has read to me:
"Strength comes from God."
Grace is from You, my Lord,
and, by Your holy word,
You give what we deserve
beneath Your rod.
