View Lyrics
In the day of looming trouble, Lord, rescue me;
God, my Helper and Deliv'rer, answer my plea.
Danger heightens my awareness
of my poverty and weakness—
I depend on Your salvation: swift may it be!
Those who come with plans to harm me—turn them away;
and on all who plot my downfall, send disarray.
Even some who walk beside me
taunt me, threaten, or deride me:
let their shameful schemes be thwarted; keep them at bay.
Lord, may all who love Your mercy sing day and night,
knowing that the highest honors are Yours by right:
for, though countless trials assail us,
we know You will never fail us,
God, our Helper and Devliv'rer, God, our Delight.
God, my Helper and Deliv'rer, answer my plea.
Danger heightens my awareness
of my poverty and weakness—
I depend on Your salvation: swift may it be!
Those who come with plans to harm me—turn them away;
and on all who plot my downfall, send disarray.
Even some who walk beside me
taunt me, threaten, or deride me:
let their shameful schemes be thwarted; keep them at bay.
Lord, may all who love Your mercy sing day and night,
knowing that the highest honors are Yours by right:
for, though countless trials assail us,
we know You will never fail us,
God, our Helper and Devliv'rer, God, our Delight.
