View Lyrics
O God, be merciful,
be merciful to me;
my foes, with constant hate,
would my destruction see.
My countless enemies
against me proudly fight;
to overwhelm my soul
they watch from morn to night.

What time I am afraid,
I put my trust in You;
in God I rest, and praise
His word, so pure and true.
In God I put my trust,
I will not doubt or fear,
for none can bring me harm
when God, my help, is near.

All day they twist my words,
their hearts are full of hate;
they meet, they scheme, they watch,
as for my soul they wait.
Shall they by wickedness
escape Your judgment right?
O God of righteousness,
destroy them in Your might!

You know my pilgrim woes,
remember all my tears;
are they not in Your book,
where all my life appears?
My foes shall flee in fear
when I appeal to You,
for none can bring me harm
when God, my help, is near.

In God, my Lord, I rest,
His word of grace I praise;
His promise stands secure:
no fear, no foe dismays.
In God I put my trust;
I will not doubt or fear,
for none can bring me harm
when God, my help, is near.

Your promises, O God,
surround me all my life;
the sacrifice of praise
to You I freely give.
You rescued me from death,
my path is set aright;
before You I shall walk
in life, and in Your light.
