Vindicate Me, O My God

Vindicate me, O my God;
come, defend me quickly.
From deceitful and unjust
godless ones protect me.
O my refuge, why have You
cast me off completely?
Must I walk about in grief,
as my foes oppress me?

Send to me Your light and truth;
make them my example.
Let them bring me to Your hill
and Your holy temple.
Then before Your altar, and
filled with adulation,
I will praise You with the harp,
God of my salvation.

Why are you cast down, my soul,
why so sad within me?
Why disquieted and grieved,
troubled so completely?
Hope in God, our one true help,
let us seek God's favor.
I shall praise You once again,
God, my help, my Savior.
