“Wisdom of God” is a song several of our musicians co-wrote for our 2013 Ekklesia Conference. It weaves together several Scripture passages that speak of God’s wisdom, including Isaiah 55:8, Romans 11:33, 2 Corinthians 4:6, 1 Corinthians 13:12, and Ephesians 3:10.

CHORUS
Your ways are not our ways, Lord
Your thoughts are not our thoughts
For how unsearchable, unknowable
Is the wisdom of our God
VERSE 1
Wisdom of God, mystery hidden for ages
Long foretold; saints of old desired to know
The plans of God: hidden from the wise, revealed to us
That He might bring to naught the wisdom of the world
VERSE 2
Wisdom of God, setting His spirit upon us
Speaking light into the darkness of our hearts
The love of God: Jesus is made the wisdom for us
That calls a rebel to the feast of eternal life
VERSE 3
Wisdom of God, shown through the church to a watching world
Heavenly powers stand in awe at His decrees
The church of God, seeking the wisdom from above
Until the day when all our faith will turn to sight
BRIDGE
When we’ll sing, “Blessing and honor and glory and power
And wisdom to our God
And unto the Lamb who sits upon the throne”
For crying and sorrow and sinning and death
Will all be passed away
And we shall know the wisdom of God, even as we are known
Your ways are not our ways, Lord
Your thoughts are not our thoughts
For how unsearchable, unknowable
Is the wisdom of our God
